Last week we took you through how to set up your Metamask wallet and connect it to Cubemint.

This week we will look into the minting feature of Cubemint.

In this article we cover:

  • What is minting?
  • Mint a Cube NFT in the audio metaverse
  • Enter your Cube NFT

What is minting?

If you’re new to crypto, chances are you’re new to minting as well.

Minting a cryptocurrency validates the currency’s information, creates a new block, and records that information into the blockchain.

NFT minting is the process of publishing a non-fungible token (NFT) on the blockchain and making it available for trade.

There are different types of blockchain networks in place for NFT minting but the most popular ones are BSC and Ethereum.

Mint a Cube NFT in the audio metaverse

In Cubemint we applied an NFT minting feature. To the use the NFT minting feature in Cubemint, start by connecting your Metamask wallet to mint your own augmented audio spaces.

Based on your current location, the platform lets you capture the ambient sounds around you. This augmented reality is registered as a non-fungible token on the blockchain and makes it available for purchase.

Here’s how to mint your own Cube :

  • Open Cubemint
  • Tap ‘Mint Cube’
  • Tap ‘Record’
  • After three minutes of recording, you’re able to mint the sound: hit the stop button

And voila! Congratulations, you just minted your own augmented audio space in Cubemint. In the bar at the bottom of the screen, you will see your minted Cubes listed in blue.

Imagine climbing Mount Everest and recording the sounds of basecamp. That unique moment is registered as an NFT and can be put up for sale. However, there’s more: you can also experience it with friends and family.

Experience an NFT? Yes, this is the cool part 👇

Enter your audio metaverse NFTs

Once you have minted your Cube, you can also enter it and relive your previously recorded experiences in spatial audio.

You can enjoy it by yourself or with friends. By sharing the unique link of your Cube with others, they will be able to enter your Cube as well and experience it with you.

To continue with our last example, let’s say you recorded the sounds of Mt. Everest’s basecamp. Tap the share button in the menu on top and share the copied link with a friend. Now they can enter your Cube and talk to you while enjoying the incredible ambient sounds of Mt. Everest you registered on the blockchain.
